Mario Quiñones


Born in Madrid , studies classical guitar graduating at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid . Later on he specializes in modern/jazz guitar between Madrid and New York with great musicians such as Joaquín Chacón, Bob Sands, John Aebercrombie, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Peter Bernstein, etc …

He collaborates with many musicians and bands such as Bob Sands Big Band, Bobby Martinez, Veronica Ferreiro, Rita Barber, among others and is currently a member of bands that are primarily about jazz as Fatbeat , Boreal Project , Tribute Scofield , Natacha Crawford Trio, Menilmontant Trio, Stephane Grappelli Tribute , One by One . He also works as Professor at the IEM (Institut of Musical Education) which holds every year courses in Pozuelo, and as Professor of the subject “New trends in twentieth century music” at the European University of Madrid (UEM).

Mario is actively engaged as a composer in its current projects. He has also being the composer for the music of various short films (“Continue” and “A Golpe de Suerte”) as well as for the music of Actors Union Gala 2010, in which he also collaborated as musical director.He combines his activity as a musician with acting taking part in the improvisation show “Musicall” produced by Imprebis and Yllana as well as the namesake show “Imprebis”. He also acts and works in the Ron Lala´s show Time al Tiempo.
